”Viorica” Gogu Winery

Description

The ”Gogu” Winery is a small family business, created in the South-East of Moldova, in the PGI Ștefan Vodă (altitude 120-190 m above the sea level).
There are a large number of sunny days (310-320 days/year) and 450mm-550mm of annual average rainfalls per year, contributes to the creation of a unique terroir.
The presence here, of red minerals, iron and other micro-elements, contributes to the production of very special wines with superior qualities.
Due to all these qualities of the PGI Ștefan Vodă, most of the winemakers prefer to grow red varieties of grapes.

Since 2011, ”Gogu” Winery concentrates their attention on the white varieties, such as: Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Viorica, Riton, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. And they have succeeded to create unique aromas and great quality wines.
Their efforts were appreciated at the international level, confirmed by several golden medals at such prestigious competitions as: Berliner Wine Trophy, Asian Wine Trophy, Mundus Vini, International Wine Contest Bucharest, and others.

”Viorica” is a Moldavian grape variety with a light yellow color and complex aromas.
It has a rich flavors, with notes of basil and acacia.

The wine has a full and well balanced taste with a long aftertaste.
